Title: Sign the petition asking for open captions for the deaf-themed movie Wonderstruck
Please sign the petition started by DC Deaf Moviegoers to have Wonderstruck shown with open captions in movie theaters.
Wonderstruck is a new film from Amazon Studios coming to theaters on October 20th. The film tells the story of 2 kids, Ben and Rose, who live in different times but share a similar story. They both go to New York City searching for something. Ben is looking for his father and Rose wants to meet her favorite actress. They also share a similar struggle, Ben loses hearing in one ear and Rose is deaf. Since this is a deaf-themed movie, it should be just natural to show the movie with open captions.
Sign the petition at this link https://www.change.org/p/amazon-studios-turn-on-open-captions-for-wonderstruck-for-deaf-moviegoers and share it with your friends. You can also contact Amazon Studios asking them to ensure open captions for Wonderstruck, and your local movie theaters asking them to set up open captions for the movie.
This film promises to be beautiful and inspiring! See the oficial trailer with open captions presented in sign language by Millicent Simmonds, the young deaf actress who plays Rose in the movie.
