Why Choose Dicapta ?

I use video description whenever possible, and I am so grateful for it. It allows me to see through someone else's eyes what is happening on the screen.

Dicapta is delighted about this nomination since our team is creating the Spanish audio description for this acclaimed children's show. Alma's Way, a series created by Sonia Manzano and produced by Fred Rogers Productions, is aimed at children ages 4-6 and based on Manzano's experiences growing up in the Bronx. It tells the story of 6-year-old Alma, a proud and confident girl, and portrays the authentic experience of living in a Latino neighborhood. It aims to teach kids how to express what they think and feel, as well as get them to know different cultures.

Dicapta is not new to Alma's Way. In partnership with Timeline Digital, Dicapta has been dubbing this wonderful series's first and second seasons to Spanish. The U.S. Department of Education funds Spanish audio description for Alma's Way through the project Enhanced Access to Video for Students with Sensory Disabilities through Emerging Technology (EnhAccess).

The Audio Description People's Choice Award winner will be announced during the 2022 ACB Audio Description Awards Gala on November 29th at 7:30pm. Don't forget to vote for Alma's Way before October 11th!
