Why Choose Dicapta ?

I use video description whenever possible, and I am so grateful for it. It allows me to see through someone else's eyes what is happening on the screen.

The Documentary He's My Brother Premiers with Accessibility Features

What does it mean to dedicate your life to someone else? This is the theme behind the movie "He's my brother" that will release Monday on PBS as part of POV's award-winning documentary series.

The film is about Christine, Peter's sister, a man who suffers from multiple disabilities and can only experience the world through taste, smell, and touch. With Peter approaching 30 years of age, his family is having a hard time finding a suitable caretaker for him, and Christine must deal with the fact that she will probably have to fulfill this role.

This film tackles issues of responsibility, family bonds, and disability.

Produced by American Documentary, POV is the longest-running independent documentary showcase on American television. The award-winning anthology series premieres fourteen features with themes that include environmental justice, systemic inequity, global perspectives on motherhood, and caregiving during multiple crises.

Audio description for the documentaries in POV's 35th season will be available thanks to the work of Dicapta and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, under project H327C210001 "Enhanced Access to Video for Students with Sensory Disabilities through Emerging Technology - EnhAccess."
