Univisionarios Awards Gala to have Live Audio Description
Tonight's Univisionarios gala at 8 p.m. EST will be broadcast with live audio description!
Univisionarios is a Univision award that honors the most influential Hispanics in the United States and how their contributions advance the Hispanic community and this country. On top of that, the gala will be accessible to everyone. Besides live audio description (AD), it will include Spanish and English captions.
This would be the first time a live event is provided with live AD on the channel. It is also the first event in Spanish-language TV in the U.S. to be broadcast with live AD, demonstrating the ever-growing need for accessible content in Spanish.
Teresa Rodríguez, Alejandra Espinoza, and actor David Zepeda will host the event. It will also have musical performances by the artists Pedro Capó, Mariachi Herencia de México, and Mau y Ricky.
The Univisionarios gala celebrates 33 different Hispanic nominees that have improved the lives of Latinos in the United States through their work, ideas, and initiatives. Among these 33 nominees, ten will received a 10.000 dollar price that will be used to boost the work of their non-profit organization or the non-profit of their preference. Our very own María Victoría Díaz was among the nominees in the "Mi Univisionario" category and was proud to be able to participate in this event.
Remember, to watch the event with live audio description activate the SAP audio track on your TV. See you tonight!
