Showcasing Accessibility Solutions at ATIA: INTEGRA and All4Voicing Lite
This past week, we showcased two of our accessibility solutions at this year’s Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA) conference. Our team presented INTEGRA, which supports IEP teams working with Latino English Learners with disabilities, and All4Voicing Lite, our streamlined audio description tool. Both presentations highlighted how these technologies are making education more accessible and inclusive.
INTEGRA: Supporting Latino Students with Disabilities
The INTEGRA session demonstrated Phase I of our project, which included the development of an AI-powered video platform designed specifically to build cultural competencies for IEP teams of Latino English Learners with disabilities. We shared how our functional prototype helps bridge educational gaps through personalized learning that considers both linguistic and cultural needs. The platform's development involved extensive usability testing with parents, teachers and students to ensure it truly serves its users, and we're excited about upcoming expansions in Phase II that will introduce more features and broader resource development.
All4Voicing Lite: Making Audio Description Simple
During the All4Voicing Lite session, educators and accessibility trainers got hands-on experience with our audio description tool. Participants saw firsthand how the platform speeds up the creation of audio descriptions for educational content. The enthusiasm in the room was palpable as attendees realized how much faster they could make their materials accessible to students and how they could use it as a tool to educate and get students involved.
Advancing Universal Design for Learning
Both INTEGRA and All4Voicing Lite align with the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), ensuring that educational materials are accessible to all learners, regardless of their linguistic, cultural, or sensory needs. By providing multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression, these tools help create a more flexible learning environment where students can access content in the ways that work best for them. Whether it's through culturally responsive resources for IEP teams or streamlined audio description for classroom materials, our solutions support diverse learning needs and promote truly inclusive education.
These presentations reinforced what we've always believed: technology can be a powerful force for educational inclusion. As INTEGRA continues to evolve and All4Voicing Lite makes audio description more accessible than ever, we're seeing real progress in breaking down educational barriers.
