On September 27, the bipartisan bill Alice Cogswell and Anne Sullivan Macy Act, aimed to improve services and education opportunities for students who are deaf, blind, hard of hearing, visually impaired and deafblind, was reintroduced to the U.S. House and Senate by U.S. Representatives Matt Cartwright and David McKinley, along with Senators Edward J. Markey and Shelley Moore Capito.

In early September, Dicapta held its annual meeting with the Advisory Group of the EnhAccess project, TV Access (grant H327C210001) funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

The partnership aims to make Spanish-language versions of Sesame's shows more inclusive and accessible to a wider audience by incorporating audio descriptions (AD) and closed captions (CC) into several of their series.

Spanish-language videos will be available with descriptive audio and captions, while emotional well-being content will have audio description and ASL versions

Dicapta is now working on creating audio descriptions for a new group of films from Pragda, the leading educational film distributor for the newest Latin American, Spanish, and Latinx cinema.

We are thrilled to announce the return of our Watch Parties! These events take place monthly, and they showcase movies in Spanish with open audio description. They are presented for our Facebook group Latinos4Access, which consists of TV and film lovers, most of them with visual disabilities.
